Acid Alkaline Imbalance is a ratio that is rarely considered by most people today. A healthy body has a greater amount of alkaline than of acid. Alkaline helps the body to combat emergency requirements when the body comes under attack form illness or infection. While people did not have a need to be concerned with this problem, today it is nearing an epidemic condition while most are unaware. It is important to understand that we are not referring to stomach acid. We are referring to body acid which is a completely different situation.
With a diet high in acids contain preservatives and additives to increase productivity, increased flavor and addictive habits of consumption. These are all being manipulated due to the greed of the producer. We the consumer partake of these foods with trust and loyalty not realize the sacrifice of our own natural health system.
A body that is in a high acidic condition is subject to several kinds of disease while a body higher in alkaline content is able to resist disease and infections. Many times our alkaline reserves are spent in trying to reduce excess acid that has built up in our bodies. A balanced or or alkaline based diet is a key to vital health.
PH is a system of measuring the alkaline/acid levels in our bodies. A neutral level is a ph of 7 as the scale of ph is from 0 to 14. The body is continually striving for a balance of ph. When the body becomes out of balance there are many problems which arise. When illness attacks the body and immune system an increase in alkaline is required to restore optimum health.
PH strips are used to measure the ph levels in your system. If your urinary ph is 6.0 to 7.0 your are in normal range. If your saliva ph is 6.5 to 7.5 your are also in the normal range. Both saliva and urine need to be checked.
Most people with an unbalanced ph are normally acidic. There are a host of health problems that are related to high acid left unchecked in our system. Some of the problems are as of follows such as cardiovascular damage with hardening of the arteries and reduction of oxygen, weight gain, diabetes, bladder and kidney conditions including kidney stones. Acceleration of free radical damage leading to cancerous mutations, premature aging, weakened bones and joint problems and foot problems due to lactic acid build up leading to gout and other foot related issues such as bone spurs.
Acid suffers also face low energy, fatigue, slow digestion and constipation. Many people have to deal with yeast and various fungal over-growths. While suffering from these issues that your body is trying to fight there are several minerals that are depleted such as calcium, sodium, potassium, and magnesium.
Restoring ph balance takes some time.
One of the first battles begin with absorption. It has been found that highly acidic people struggle with the normal absorption of proper nutrition, vitamins and supplements.
You must begin with getting your enzyme levels up by supplements and get an easily digestible form of Magnesium. Reduce or remove your intake of caffeine drinks such as coffee, tea and energy drinks. We use artificial chemical sweetners in our foods and diet drinks like NutraSweet, Equal, or aspartame, which are extremely acid-forming.
Eat high levels of green vegetables such as kale, spinach and other types including ingredients in most salads. Make sure to meet your vitamin requirements such as vitamin C. Add flax seed oil to you diet to speed up and releive your digestive system.
Some beneficial foods to add to your diet include figs, molasses, green, leafy veggies, almonds, beets, dates, celery, cantaloupe and parsley. Start
your day with a large glass of water with the juice from a whole lemon. Eat green salads with the juice of a lemon and olive oil for the dressing.
Use almonds for your snack food through out the day. Drink Almond milk instead of cow’s milk as cow’s milk is considered acidic. Take a daily walk to help increase activity through out your body. Drink smoothies made with Almond milk as the base ingredient with your favorite fruits and green leafy vegetables mixed in. Even choose to go some days with out the intake of meat.
Some minor steps actually but your life and health depend on it. Create your own fresh meals and less of the fast easy pre-made meals that are so readily available at the restaurant or in your grocery aisle
