Few things are more unpleasant or uncomfortable than talking to someone who has a bad breath. If you are the one who suffers from halitosis, you know how embarrassing this problem can be. Maybe you have tried things like chewing gum, but if the problem persists, you should read my advice in the article below to have a good breath.

Increase your water consumption

Dehydration is one of the main causes of halitosis.

Make sure to drink two liters of water a day if you want to have a good breath. Water is responsible for eliminating bacteria from the mouth, so if you don’t drink water frequently, bacteria can reproduce freely.

The more water you drink, the more saliva you’ll have, which is good because saliva also helps killing bacteria. Furthermore, since saliva is rich in oxygen this makes more difficult for the bacteria to reproduce and survive.

Look for foods rich in zinc

Do you have a balanced and healthy diet? Think about it, because you may not. An appropriate consumption of products such as nuts, organic meats, seeds and cocoa can help you have a good breath because of the zinc contained in these foods, which prevents excess of bacteria in your mouth. Most oral hygiene products have it as one of its main components.

If you are allergic to milk, you can take probiotic supplements instead, readily you can find these supplements in any health and food stores.

Have a balanced diet

A diet low in carbohydrates, fats and proteins will help you to have a good breath. Certain foods like asparagus contain ketones that can remain in your mouth causing halitosis. Make sure that your diet is rich in broccoli, carrots, mint, apples and celery.

Crunchy fruits and vegetables are an excellent choice because they naturally clean your teeth and tongue while you eat them.

Floss daily

Brushing the teeth is part of our daily routine but not everybody uses dental floss. If you don’t use it, pieces of food can remain in between your teeth feeding the bacteria that live your mouth. This increases the problem, which is difficult to fight with only a toothbrush, paste and mouthwash.

When washing your teeth, don’t forget your tongue.

Use a special brush for this purpose to prevent the plaque to be built.

Stop smoking

Smoking is a nasty habit, which not only stains your teeth and dries your mouth, it also causes bad breath. Nicotine residues remain in your mouth, go inside your blood vessels and limit the creation of saliva. Remember, if there is not enough saliva, the oral bacteria can increase freely.
